One evening a bunch of us (20 -30 year old professionals) were at a Manhattan lounge sippin’ happy hour martinis. At some point during our conversation, we started talking about “what really hurts about living in NYC”. Not surprisingly, we arrived at an easy consensus – apartment hunting really sucks here! It takes a lot of time and costs a lot of money. After sharing horror stories for an hour or so, we decided to try and do something about it – we built this site.

Sweet Shelter is not a listing service. Nor are we a real estate firm. Sweet Shelter’s objective is to ease the pains associated with the rental experience.

For renters, it allows you to express your dream apartment wish-list so that your dream apartment can find you. We are certain that it will save you a ton of time and, hopefully, a ton of money, while shielding you from a lot of the BS that plagues the real estate industry in NYC. You don’t have to waste time looking at classified ads only to find out that the apartment you are calling about has been rented. Or worse, it does not even exist!

For real estate professionals, we have tried to create a platform that saves you a ton of time and a ton of money as well.
